Movie Theatres - Free or reduced kids movies throughout the summer.  This link goes to the Regal movie theatres, but other theatre companies offer similar discounts.  In the past Georgia Theatre Company has offered $1 kids movies throughout the summer, and AMC Theatres have done the same.
Parkway Value Cinemas offers $1.99 admission for all movies.
National Parks - Free entrance days throughout the year.  Many parks offer free admittance 365 days a year.
Zoo Atlanta - Houston County Libraries have a DVD about Zoo Atlanta.  When you return the DVD, you receive a FREE 4 pack of tickets to Zoo Atlanta.  THESE TICKETS MUST BE USED WITHIN 7 DAYS OF DVD RETURN, SO PLAN ACCORDINGLY!
Museums - Many museums and zoos offer reciprocal benefits with other zoos and museums throughout the country when you purchase their annual memberships.  Be sure to ask about it!  We had a membership to the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery in OH and we got reciprocal benefits which included free admission to museums in PA.  We had a lot of fun and saved a lot of money!

Money Saving Web Sites

Listed below are several of our favorite money saving web sites.
Kayak.com - This site is a search engine for airfare.  They do not sell airline tickets, they simply find you the lowest rate available.  Prices include most taxes and fees, so the price you see will be roughly what you pay.  They search MOST domestic airlines and travel sites.  They do not search for Southwest, so you will have to go to their site to compare.
Groupon.com - Sign up for their daily deals.  They offer one deal a day at usually at least a 50% discount from the retail price.  I recently purchased $100 of salon services for $39.  The offered deals vary from services (such as salon services), to retail, to restaurant deals.
LivingSocial.com - Works much like Groupon does.  They also periodically offer "getaway" deals on travel.
Vacationrentals.com - Search engine for vacation homes across the US.  Find any type, size, or location of vacation homes at various price points.  Communicate directly with the owner or property manager.  They also have a Deals section to save even more money.
Time2SaveWorkshops.com - Updated regularly, this site shows you how to save at grocery stores and drug stores.  They list the weekly deals, tell you how to use your coupons in conjunction with your store cards, and even provide links to sites offering coupons.
SouthernSavers.com - Has deals similar to Time2Save but also puts other deals on their site such as free shipping codes, groupon or living social deals from other cities, and magazine deals.
Ebates.com - Sign up and receive a percentage of cash back on online purchases at participating online retailers including ebay.  Also works with "site to store" feature.  This REALLY does work.  I have received multiple checks from them.
RetailMeNot.com - Search for discount codes and coupons for online shopping.
Restaurant.com - Check our Restaurants page for more details.
RobinsYardSales.com - Kind of like a localized craigslist, only it is more about buying and selling rather than listing jobs and other services.  They also list yard sales going on each week and even list them on a map!  It is a great site and we have personally used it to buy and sell items.
